Efficient Refuelling Solution for a Transport and Logistics Company
Project Overview
Previously, Cochranes Cartage Contractors relied on an old 20,000L capacity underground tank in their Kewdale facility in WA. They were often running out of fuel and needed regular refills from the fuel supplier. With escalating fuel delivery costs, it was becoming increasingly difficult for the fuel supplier to efficiently manage frequent deliveries for small quantities of fuel. The challenge was heightened by the limited space and a high volume of movement in the yard. The key to the success of this project was delivering a high capacity fuel storage tank with a compact and space-efficient design. In summary, the brief for Fuelfix & Tanks2Go was to implement a fuel storage and management system within a limited space to ensure increased fuel storage capacity with high-flow hoses and a fuel tracking system.
Fuelfix & Tanks2Go designed and delivered a 70,000L capacity tank with a dual high-flow refuelling package and the Fuelfix Fuel Management System. The Fuelfix & Tanks2Go Self‐Bunded 70FF tank is designed to leverage the efficiencies of a large scale fuel storage. The compact and space-efficient design, with all pumps and hoses built into the existing tank footprint, was the perfect solution to overcome space constraints. The “plug and play” design of the tank allowed for easy transport, installation and connection. The Fuelfix FMS enabled the client to accurately measure, track, monitor and control their fuel usage accurately from any remote location. This ensured instant fuel reconciliation, anywhere, anytime! As a result, the client was able to manage their fuel inventory efficiently. So, no more running out of fuel! The dual hose high-flow pump increased workflow and faster refuelling of vehicles.
Verdict
The refuelling solution designed by Fuelfix & Tanks2Go with a 70FF tank, dual high-flow refuelling package and fuel management solution provided outstanding results for the client. Increased fuel storage capacity meant reduced downtime, and optimised fuel delivery costs. Moreover, the client was also able to navigate the recent global surge in fuel prices in a smoother manner.
